Manchego DOP Pueblo is a medium firm, smooth, flavoursome cheese. Made of pasteurised sheep’s milk. Matured for 3 months. Produce of La Mancha, Spain.
This cheese is made with milk from Manchega ewes, the famous breed of sheep that originate from time immemorial in La Mancha region of Spain. This breed has not been mixed with any other breeds and therefore is protected by the POD status. The Manchega milk is rich and creamy and contains about double the butter fat content of cow’s and goat’s milk.
The Manchego cheese has a POD status (Spanish: Denominación de Origen Protegida) which means it is guaranteed as an authentic Manchego. The lable of the cheese contains the words Queso Manchego.
Manchego di mi Pueblo is made from pasteurised sheep’s milk and is matured for 3 months. The Manchego cheese texture is firm and the cheese has a subtle flavour. The crust has a traditional basket weave pattern, originating from when the cheeses were carted to market in woven baskets on the backs of donkeys.
