Shipping costs are calculated based on your delivery postal code. Please ensure that you use the correct STREET postal code in South Africa. The French Market does not ship outside the Republic of South Africa at this time.

Orders are packaged within 1 business working day of receipt of payment and take 2 to 5 days to be delivered to the main centres via The French Market designated courier company. Deliveries are not made on the weekends, except by arrangement and payment of a surcharge. Please contact us for more details.

Rural deliveries can take 7 days or more for very remote areas. The French Market is not responsible for delays incurred by the couriers. To avoid weekend transit and ensure product quality, orders of perishable products cannot be scheduled for Mondays.

Should a package be damaged, lost or stolen whilst in the care of our couriers, The French Market will either replace or refund the item after an investigation confirms the loss or damage.

Perishables are not eligible for returns.

  • In the event that you wish to return your non-perishable items you have to inform us by email within 24 hours of receipt of delivery.
  • You have 7 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it, if the item is defective or damaged.
  • To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the original packaging.
  • Your item needs to be packed with the receipt or proof of purchase.


Perishables can only be refunded if proof of damage is supplied by images on same day of receipt.

  • Once we receive your non-perishable item, we will inspect it and notify you that we have received your returned item.
  • We will immediately notify you on the status of your refund or exchange after inspecting the item.
  • If your return is approved, we will initiate a refund to your credit card or original method of payment within 7 days. Should you opt for a replacement item, we will ship the replacement to you at our cost within 7 days.


You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable.

If you need to cancel your order, you need to do so before it is packed or leaves our shop. Please contact us immediately on +27 83 300 6725 or to begin the cancellation process. For cancelled orders, you can choose to receive a credit for future purchases in our shop or have the funds returned to your original form of payment.
