Pomme de terre au Munster
Munster and potato bakeIngredients for 2 persons
- 2 large potatoes
- 100g Munster d’Alsace
- 4 slices of bacon
- 2g cumin seeds
- Ground black pepper
- 100ml of cider
- 5g of butter
Directions:
- Boil the potatoes in their skins for 20 minutes in salted water.
- Preheat the oven to 180C degrees.
- Grease the inside of a baking dish.
- Slice the Munster into thin slices.
- Once the potatoes are cooked, leave the skins on the potatoes and slice in half length ways.
- Use a teaspoon and remove the centre of the potato.
- Place slices of the Munster in the centres of each potato half.
- Wrap the bacon around the potato halves.
- Place the potato halves bottom side down in the baking dish.
- Pour the cider around the potatoes.
- Bake in the oven for about 15 minutes.
- Turn off the oven and switch on the grill to crisp the bacon.
- Remove from the oven when bacon is lightly crisp.
- Grate black pepper over the dish
- Sprinkle with cumin seeds.
Serve straight away while hot, accompanied by a crisp green salad. I suggest try pairing this robust and hearty dish with a glass of cider.
