Tagliatelle au beurre de truffe blanche
Tagliatelle with white truffle butter

Ingredients for 2 people

  • 1 thick sirloin steak
  • 4 small teaspoons of white truffle butter from the French Market
  • 1 packet of tagliatelle from the French Market
  • 2 large garlic cloves
  • 200g porcini mushrooms
  • 125ml fresh cream (optional)
  • 100g butter French salted butter from the French Market
  • Salt and pepper to taste.

Directions:

  1. Peel and chop the garlic finely.
  2. Slice the steak into thin slices.
  3. Brush off any dirt from mushrooms, cut of the base of the foot, coarsely chop the mushrooms into small chunks.
  4. Melt half the ordinary butter in a heavy based frying pan and gently fry the garlic and mushrooms.
  5. If you wish to add cream to the sauce, then once the mushrooms have cooked, turn down the heat and add the cream, simmer gently and stir, do not allow to boil.
  6. Heat up the rest of the ordinary butter in a heavy based frying pan and quickly fry the steak slices.
  7. Put a large pan of water with some salt on to boil. Add the tagliatelle and cook for a few minutes until nearly soft. Drain and put in a large bowl
  8. Add the mushroom sauce to the tagliatelle and stir in until pasta is coated.
  9. Place the steak slices over the top of the pasta.
  10. Add a few small teaspoons of white truffle butter to the top of the slices of steak.
  11. Finely grate some fresh black pepper over the top.

Serve immediately, accompanied by a fresh green salad and a glass of Ca’Bianca Barolo from the Piedmonte in Italy. Available from our French Market shop or order online.
