Dear French Market friends
Christmas is in two days time and everyone is out looking for presents and special treats for Christmas. We are open today until 7pm and tomorrow until 5pm. We are closed on 25, 26December and 1st January.
We still have a few Panettones and Pandoro left, I cannot believe how they have flown out of the door.
For your special Christmas gourmet treats, we have received a small stock of fresh black truffles from Italy. These have a beautiful aroma and make a real treat with a Christmas dinner. We have Oscetra caviar and Baerii caviar from Italy .
We have received a small stock of Mont D Or – let me know if you wish to buy one as they are going fast. We have lots of Vacherousse, this lovely creamy cheese from the Jura mountains has a light orange crust, the flavour is gentle and the texture is unctuous. Come in and taste some. We have lots of other amazing French cheese in stock
There is plenty of the delicious duck Mousse. We received Terrine Forestiere, which is a pork country terrine with woodland mushrooms, really tasty. We also have stock of boar saucisson sec.
For your Christmas celebrations we have a good stock of the Tribaut Schloesser Champagne Origine Brut.
My recipe this week is my Grandmother’s traditional Christmas pudding and mincemeat filling for mince pies. If you do not have time to make your pudding then come and buy one of our Wilkin & Sons traditional Xmas puddings.
