Oranges givrees au Grand Marnier
Frosted oranges with Grand Marnier
Ingredients for 6 servings
- 6 Oranges
- 225gr sugar
- 2-3 tablespoons Grand Marnier Liqueur
Directions:
- Wash oranges
- Cut the top third off the oranges
- Remove the pulp from inside the top and the main part of the orange
- Put the empty oranges and lids onto a flat tray and place in the freezer
- Place pulp in a bowl and press out all the juice with a spoon, strain juice into a bowl.
- Place sugar and 2 tablespoons water in a saucepan and heat up until it forms strings of melted sugar
- Add the orange juice and reheat, stirring all the time until the mixture forms threads
- Place in a heat proof container and allow to cool
- Place in a freezer until the mixture has frozen, stirring from time to time
- Once the orange juice has frozen, spoon the Grand Marnier into the first empty orange and swirl around the inside, then pour the liquid into the next orange, until you have done this with each empty orange.
- Any remaining Grand Marnier can be equally shared in the base of each orange.
- Spoon the frozen orange mixture back into the oranges chill until serving
- Cover with the lids prior to serving
